There is a non-profit organization in Englewood, Florida that
works out of Lemon Bay High School. CARE (Children Are Reason Enough)
is a club that students may join to earn community service time while
simultaneously helping not only children but anyone in need of help.
The students gather after school for "packing parties" where
they insert donated clothing, shoes, school supplies and any other
necessities that the club can acquire into boxes. Then the goods are
shipped to Lithuania, Bosnia, locations in the USA, and even locally
to families who cannot afford to buy clothing, etc.
Recently, CARE received letters from its destinations thanking
all of those who put in such hard work and care into helping the lives
of others. Going into the 1998-1999 school year CARE will be growing
as large as ever and will continue to do so as Englewood's population
grows larger. In it's expansion, CARE needs all the help and donations
it can get and has gone online for YOUR help! If you think you may
have items of use to donate to CARE, please check out the club's
webpage @
