Ok. I am trying to comprehend a question I think I already answered because it is mind blowing. Here it goes: Facts are as follows: According to the International Programs Center, U.S. Bureau of the Census, the total population of the World, projected to 1/28/98 at 3:32:23 PM EST is 5,892,621,754 people - Refrenced at: http://www.census.gov/cgi-bin/ipc/popclockw Kentucky Land Area is 39,674 sq. miles -Refrenced at: http://www.scvol.com/States/kentucky.htm one square mile = 2.78784E+07 sq feet -Refrenced at: http://www.execpc.com/~wallin/convert/cvert.html Now the question is what % of the world population would fit in the land area of Kentucky assuming each person occupies 2.5 sq ft of space. Here is my calc. Kentucky Land Area (sq ft) = 39674 * 27878400 = 1,106,047,641,600 sq ft. Total people count (shoulder to shoulder) in Kentucky assuming a 2.5 sq ft of space is: 1,106,047,641,600 sq ft. / 2.5 sq ft. = 442,419,056,640 People Therefore, The % of the world population that could fit in Kentucky is like this: The Percentage = (Space allocated for total people in KY / World population) * 100 The Percentage = (442,419,056,640 People / 5,892,621,754 people) * 100 The Percentage = if done correctly, 7508% Does this sound right to anyone. Please e-mail me as soon as you can because it is boggling the mind right now.
