Cable Modem in Apt's

Hello everyone. I am looking for an apartment in Silicon Valley where
I can get a Cable Modem, and am having a difficult time finding one.
Maybe you can help me.

If you:

1) Use a cable modem at home, via TCI and @Home
2) Rent in an apartment complex
3) Live in the "Silicon Valley" part of the Bay Area

(Or know of someone who does all of the above)

then I'd like to hear from you -- Specifically if you're living in
Cupertino, Sunnyvale(*), Mountain View, Palo Alto, Santa Clara, or San Jose --
If you have a cable modem and you like your apartment complex (or even
if you aren't thrilled with the place) would you please tell me a little
bit about your complex.

Where is your apartment complex located? (An address and/or location relative to
major freeways, expressways, whatever's relevant)
What sort of amenities does it have?
Are cats allowed?
How is the rent?

I did extensive web searches, and just didn't find what I was looking for.

I did find one place meeting all my needs in Fremont, CA

It's $1400/month for a 2 bedroom apartment, and has all the amentities
(permission to have a pet, swimming pool, weight room, washer/dryer
hookup, etc.) But when I went up to visit it, I was disappointed to realize
how far it was -- Eastern Fremont is just too far from the area I'd
like to live.

If only BART went to the west bay!!! :-)

I've heard rumors that Cable Modems are also available in San Jose and
Sunnyvale (*). I tried contacting @Home directly, but they can not
answer the question "Where are Cable Modems available?"--
So maybe you can help. -- I'm turning to first-hand experiences from the 'net
to help me out.

I'll be moving from San Diego to the Bay Area in June -- And while having a
Cable Modem isn't the _ONLY_ thing that matters, it sure would be nice. :-)

(*) I know that Sunnyvale seems to be perpetually in Beta Testing -- so I'm
not hopeful that I'll wind up in Sunnyvale with a Cable Modem.

Thanks for any help you can give me in my apartment hunting.

P.S. I know that San Jose is a big place -- some parts are further from
the Heart of Silicon Valley than Fremont is -- But email me anyway if you
think you know of a complex which fits what I'm describing. THANKS!
