Karen Schneider is responsible for the censoring of contributors
to the forum at
http://lists.webjunction.org/mailman/listinfo/publib

Regrettably colleagues are unwilling to critique other
colleagues for their shortcomings.

In mounting a forum it is better to have an uncensored
version available and an edited version for those
who prefer editorial judgment to pare down everything.

The difficulty is that many people do not have full knowledge of
the features of the software technology. Moderators exert control
that suppresses free expression rather than let all who would
contribute their points of view express it freely. Rather than
instruct objectors how to use their local filtering mechanisms
described at
http://www.google.com/search?biw=864&hl=en&q=killfile

How ironical that our intellectual freedom advocates do not
practice their point of view when faced with challenging
predicaments.
