God, this seems to be a nice quiet place to pray. The last post was months
ago about a volleyball tournament. So, it's quiet as a church, and it's all
ours.
My mother said that I need to pray and I know you can't beat the oldies
because they were written by higher powers than me... like the Beatles.
OK, let's get that out of the way. I have a hard time being serious,
especially about this horse and pony show we call life. You know. You
created it. My life is just a microsecond in eternity. You get to see the
whole picture. Plus, when you can come up with things like "Our Father who
art in heaven, hallowed be thy name", on a dime, and I have to rack my brain
to talk to you, we're not in the same league. We're just in the same
universe. You remember- the big bang or 7 days. We can't even answer the
easy ones.
Now there;s one thing I can't stand- saying the same prayers over and
over, like the Rosary. There's a reason priests give out sentenses like that
in confession- they're torture. I guess that's why it's supposed to be
penance for your sins. It's worse than giving up sugar and fried foods. (On
earth, I call it humor. I sure hope you have a good sense of it because it
makes my life much easier to understand, not that you need any help.
So my first prayer is that you understand why I'm praying to you and why
here. I know you know- I can write my thoughts better than I can say them.
Incredibly. I write better at 4 in the morning than I think at 9:30 mass.
But, I have a lot to say and a lot to ask. If you can fix my back, I'll
start bringing a writng pad to church instead of a computer desk. I guess
that's second prayer.
You created me. You'll Understand.
