Usually , this is given at U.O.P or U.C.S.F. up here and it U.C.L.A or U.S.C. in the Los Angeles area. BTW.. If you need dental work and you have *exactly* what is needed for the test, this is a great opportunity to get some of the best dental work done and at a great price (Free). My wife went through the test a few years ago. Don't think you will be a "guinea pig". The people taking the test have been working on patients in the university or in private practice in another state or country. All the work is done is done under the strict oversight of the Dental Board Examiners. The person posting this was a little brief. Finding an "acceptable" patient is pure hell. There are very specific requirements by the Dental Board, so not everybody can qualify. My wife looked at dozens of potential patients in the S.F. and L.A. areas just to find the right 3 problems. The test two years ago required a gold crown on a molar, deep cleaning or root planing with just the right sized pockets, and an amalgam filling (nothing too large). They didn't allow porcelain crowns. A tooth with a root canal or in need of a root canal would create a problem for the person taking the exam. I doubt they would want to do a crown on a root canal. AND... at the risk of being commercial, if anybody is looking for a great dentist in the downtown San Jose area, my wife has an office next to San Jose Hospital. Maria Gonzalez-Cook, DDS. 408-287-0913 or toothdoc@netcom.com. Small office, personal attention, etc. Tell her you read about it on the internet and your exam, diagnostic xrays, and cleaning is $35. When you get there, you can grab one of the coupons on her desk for 20% off on any work needed. It's a good deal from a great dentist.. Really. :^) ________________________________________________________________________ Gary W.
