Gelogen.
These cancels are issued as a service to the Internet providers not wishing
to carry the frequently asked questions (FAQ) spam. Sites that do not wish
to take advantage of this free service can easily can opt out of these
cancels by "aliasing out" the faqcancel pseudosite.

Subject: Report: Forged cancels injected at UUNET.... AGAIN
...
Like the last time, these cancels contained messages suggesting that
they were legitimate thirdparty spam cancels, but clearly they are not.
New this time was claims that they were from one of the legitimate
spam cancellers - but examination of the path proves that they are not.
Furthermore, these cancels attempted to promote vote fraud against the
Usenet vote being held for the news.lists reorganization.
Isn't it ironic that tale's own system is being used to subvert the
voting process?
...
A total of 8131 of these cancels were received here containing the
following "tags":
456 cripplecancel
465 faqcancel
2346 hombrecancel
2127 mlkcancel
1396 nazicancel
208 porncancel
1133 redneckcancel
I reposted as many as I could find, less a few chain letters. This
totalled 3153.
