Hallo,
geschaffen, der alle EMail an `the members of both houses'
local telephone calls are never free, but cost by the minute, and
prices were just increased by more than 100% in January
und
1-800 telephone numbers do not work in Germany, of course, but
most spammers include them in their mail
und
bandwidth is about fifty times expensive here as in the USA
Falls
die Mails mal in falsche Hnde geraten, wei man, woher die Mail
kommt an die andere Adresse letzten Endes her kommt.

OK,
To end the confusion, June 6th will be an *attack* on a group of people
who hold a lot of influence yet don't have a clue about technology.
Yes Virginia, its the US government.
On June 6th, I will enable an alias: gov@segel.com . This alias
contains all the e-mail addresses of the members of both houses.
The purpose of this e-mail address is to allow you, the citizens
of the net, let the US government know what problems we are
having with Junk E-Mail.
This alias will only be available on June 6th. So if everyone who
gets junk e-mail, please send one copy to the government too.
BUT YOU MUST FOLLOW THE GUIDELINES:
1) E-Mail to the governement should contain your name,
address , and e-mail address.
2) Please include a brief statement about your opinions of
junk e-mail something like:
Dear US Government Official,
I thought that this type of unsolicited e-mail should be
brought to your attention. The majority of users of the
information highway face a growing number of this type
of garbage each day. We ask only that you help legislate
laws prohibiting unsolicted e-mail.
Sincerely
<PLACE YOUR NAME HERE>
Or something to this affect. Then include the *ENTIRE* e-mail.
I realize that some people feel that the US Government should not
get involved in net politics. I aggree to a point. Based on the FCC,
and telecomunication laws and state laws on tresspassing / theft of
service, they are already involved. If we can extend the laws which
prohibit unsolicited faxes to cover e-mail, then we will be ok.
Send me your comments.
-Mikey
