The newgroup control message DID in fact go out. : It was written using the guidelines at: Well I don't know how you generated the control message, but it sure sounds like it didn't get very far. I never saw it hit the ABSnet server, and I know Jim didn't didn't see it on JaguNet. ABSnet shares news with many other local sites (UMD, CAIS, CapitolNet, Magnus Online, and many more), and to think that none of the sites passed the message off to us is almost unbelieveable... : This is getting rather silly, don't you think. You and Jim have been : harping on the fact that this group was created without following THE : GUIDELINES. I won't go into the whole bit again, but will basically go as far as to say if the is NO GUIDELINE, then it is up to the local area NetNews Admins to decide what groups are carried, and this heavy handed approch actually works very well if they various admins communicate back and forth. Adam, if you are the admin of a large news server, and want this group created, and see no guideline, then don't you think the correct thing to do would be to contact some of the other server admins and see if they agree with you and will back your actions?? The balt.config group was created by me when balt.* was setup, and this wasn't done before some discussion took place with several of the other large site admins... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Internet : howardl@abs.net | Howard D.
