What do you think: You are driving on the Washington DC beltway, it is 8 July 1996 at 12:27 PM, just you and the red station wagon in front of you. You are in the middle lane (right lane and left lanes are empty). A few stones are in the middle lane with one fairly big rock mixed amongst them. The larger rock is clearly big enough to see from a distance. The red station wagon drives over the stones to include the bigger one and as it shoots out from under the red station wagon's left rear tire, it cracks your windshield. It appears from records at MVA that the red station wagon is registered to AT&T Auto Services Inc. and insured by Travelers Ins Co. Travelers and AT&T say it is road hazard material. They refuse to cover the damage. I say road hazard if it is accidentally thrown up but it is NOT road hazard when the rock is clearly visible from a distance and you have time to avoid it! Do I push the issue and take them both to small claims court? Ever have a similar experience? Thanks for letting me know! Signed, Bill
