Might I suggest using an appropriate news group? Bc.bcnet is for
messages regarding the operation of the BCnet network (which this post doesn;t
appear to be).
Introduction to the British Columbia Regional Newsgroups
Periodic Information Posting
(Last changed: December 11, 1995)
===================================================
This message describes the British Columbia regional news-
group hierarchy. It is automatically posted on a periodic
basis to selected British Columbia regional Usenet news-
groups. Questions or comments about this message should be
sent to the author via e-mail. Suggestions on ways to
improve this document are encouraged.
Following is a list of the currently active British Columbia
area newsgroups:
bc.general
This is a general purpose catch-all group for discus-
sions that don't have a more specific newsgroup. Please
do not crosspost articles to bc.general and one of the
special purpose groups as this defeats the whole pur-
pose of having separate newsgroups for differing topics
of discussion.
bc.bcnet
Messages concerning the operational status of the BCnet
network, including notices of downtime and network
reconfiguration. The bcnet-tech mailing list is gate-
wayed to this newsgroup, however the newsgroup is not
gatewayed back to the mailing list.
bc.cycling
Traveling British Columbia on less than four wheels
(human powered only).
bc.jobs
Postings about jobs: offered and wanted. This group is
for jobs in B.C. *only*! There are other forums for
other areas. (See can.jobs and the misc.jobs newsgroup
hierarchy if you're looking for something outside of
B.C.)
bc.news.stats
Daily summaries of Usenet traffic flow through regional
news hub sites. This information helps news adminis-
trators spot problems with Usenet connectivity. (Pretty
dry reading unless you're into this stuff ...) This is
not a discussion group - don't post general articles
here.
bc.politics
Tips on running a bingo hall, and anything else related
to the wacky political arena in Lotusland. Please try
to keep political discussions out of the other bc.*
groups.
bc.unix
All things pertaining to the One True Operating System.
bc.weather
Automated postings of Environment Canada weather fore-
casts.
Usenet works best when everyone respects the topic focus of
the discussion area. Please don't post messages to inappro-
priate newsgroups. Further information on posting etiquette
(and Usenet in general) can be found in the newsgroup
news.announce.newusers.
