CA*net has investigated the 10 to 15% packet losses we are seeing on the link from BCnet to the NSFNET. The data line looks completely clean -- packets are not being lost because of corruption. But the traffic in the north-bound direction is overloading the link and the routers are responding appropriately by throwing packets away. I have asked CA*net to let me know what our usage of the link has been over the past few months and await word from them. The overload may well be caused by the video feed being multicast from the IETF meeting currently in progress. Can all people who are receiving a feed please let me know? Let's be sure we are receiving only one. -- Mike
