Has anyone here had a look at the newsgroup uw.network.external?
It is available on BCNet's newsfeed in so you can add it to your news 
server if you want to have a look.

Basically, it is a mail-news gateway that is subscribed to several 
"outages" lists. I think this would be an excellent idea for BCnet to do 
with this newsgroup. 

In addition, from reading that newsgroup, it would appear that ONet is a 
lot more forthcoming than BCNet regarding transitory outages even if they do 
not affect all network customers.

Basically, we can keep our users HAPPIER if we can explain to them why 
there was an outage. Otherwise they think we are just flailing in the 
dark. If BCNet would pass all this info down the chain, it would be nice.
