FARNET Stories Project Update #1

In the attached message FARNET (Federation of Academic and Research
Networks) asks for stories which support the building of the national
information infrastrucutre (in the US, of course). Please feel free
to submit your story. And also feel free to have a look at the
detailed project description in /farnet/stories on farnet.org. I
suspect that at least some of the stories that are submitted will be
very interesting. BCnet is a member of FARNET through CA*net's
affiliation.

Subject: FARNET Stories Project Update #1

To all those who are interested in the FARNET stories project:

A reminder that the deadline for you to submit your story to the "51
Reasons to Build the National Information Infrastructure" project is the
end of this month:

                Wednesday, March 31, 1993

IF you are thinking that "my story is just like hundreds of others"...

IF you believe that people in other parts of the country are not going to
be interested in what you have to say...

IF you think it will take too long to write down what you want to say...

IF you're not sure that YOUR story is "right" for the project...

                        THINK AGAIN!

There is a *tremendous* amount of interest out there -- from other network
users, journalists, policymakers, and legislators -- in how the Internet is
being used.

AND NOT MUCH GOOD INFORMATION IS READILY AVAILABLE!!

Please call or write us if you have any questions about what we are looking
for or how to submit a story, and please send your stories! Ask your
students and colleagues to send them!

Our telephone number is 1 800 72 FARNET. Our address is
'stories@farnet.org'.

Every Friday from now until the end of March we'll be sending a message
summarizing the number, location and types of stories received to date.

For copies of the story project description, send mail to
stories@farnet.org, or ftp the files from host farnet.org, in the
/farnet/stories directory.

And FINALLY, THANK YOU FOR WRITING YOUR STORY!
