A pig farmer in Chilliwack, BC has had a terrible fire. He lost 900 young
pigs and about 40 sows. The pigs were almost ready for market and he was
counting on the money from their sale to keep his farm going. The
Insurance Company is dragging it's heels and the amount they are
discussing will not even cover what he owes for feed. He has only enough
money to cover his costs for feed for the pigs he has left for another two
weeks. Also his sows are ready to give birth and he has no place to put
them. This guy needs some serious community support.

I am writing because I live in Nova Scotia and cannot do much else from
here. I know that a similar fire in Truro claimed many dairy cattle and
the farmer there found himself in a similar situation. The community got
together and had an old fashioned barn raising party. I am hoping that
that kind of spirit is alive in British Columbia.

I don't want to give out the farmers name because he is a proud man and
would not ask for help himself. People in the area will know who he is. I
hope somebody will be able to help.
