I attempted to post this Tuesday, but it does not appear to have gone anywhere.
Please accept my apologies if you see this twice...
**** IMPORTANT ****
If you are outside southwestern British Columbia, Canada or northwestern
Washington state, U.S.A., please ignore this message. (I have attempted to
limit distribution to the appropriate region, but some news servers ignore
distribution restrictions on the posting.)
**** End of disclaimer ****
For those of you still reading:
B.C.'s longest-running personal computing event,
the PACIFIC COAST COMPUTER FAIR AND SWAP MEET
is back once again, for its 17th year!
Time and date: Saturday, 19 Oct, 10am to 4pm
Location: McPherson Centre, 7325 MacPherson Ave., Burnaby
(near Metrotown, south of Kingsway and east of Royal Oak)
Admission: Only $3.00 (no coupons required!)
The swap meet portion of the Fair will consist of over 50 vendors with a total
of over 80 tables. We have confirmed vendors selling:
- PC, Mac, and Amiga hardware and software
- CD-ROMs (oodles)
- computer books (tons of 'em!)
- inkjet refill kits
- cellphones and pagers
- computer carrying cases
- internet service
- and lots more
For a more complete list of vendors and what they will be selling, see the
Pacific Coast Computer Fair Association web site at:
http://www.pccfa.org
Several local computer user groups will also be putting on displays. These
can be a great source of (mostly) unbiased information. Find out from actual
users what they think of hardware, software, or services.
There will be door prize draws. Food and beverages are available on-site.
The Fair is run by the Pacific Coast Computer Fair Association (PCCFA), a
non-profit society of volunteers drawn from the local personal computing
community. It is in no way associated with any of the commercially-run
computer swap meets being operated in British Columbia.
Remember, we only run a single Fair each year, so if you miss this one you'll
have to wait a whole twelve months!
