 What you have in one case of amicable divorce and diligent payment
 of support of my acquaintance, is one well-paid former partner
 suffering a quite bearable reduction of life-style to raise the
 life-style of the other partner, who had to go back on the job
 market after years of absence at much lower pay, and of two
 children to a level which is socially acceptable.  Anecdotal
 evidence?  Sure; someone who has the statistics, please quote them.
