Ah fine bit of sarcastic humour, but... > Coming up on three years into the emergence of the New World > Order, and we have the irony of a BC Government seemingly intent > on inventing anew Socialism With An Inhuman Face. This socialism you seek seems to include a built in class distinction. What is it about the profession of medicine that makes people believe doctors should make so much of a better living than the people who pay for their services? These doctor's wages are being capped, not cut. When was the last time you saw a poor doctor? I for one would rather see the money being spent on health care get spent on medical equipment, and opening extra hospital beds, rather than increasing the salary of doctors. As for the complaint that hospitals are not given enough money to hire sufficient numbers of doctors, perhaps instead of blaming the lack of funds, we should look at the cost of the doctors. Do not attack the symptoms, when it should be the illness you are after. Perhaps you should also have mentioned to the american's listenning that BC uses government funds to pay for a pension fund for our highest paid professionals, namely doctors. Not only are our doctors well paid over a very long professional career, but we as taxpayers then make sure they maintain that standard of living into their retirement. One would think that government pension plans are better suited for the masses of lower paid citizens, who can not draw from such long and prosperous careers, to save for retirement. > on inventing anew Socialism With An Inhuman Face. You be the judge. Socialism for the wealthy? Sounds like social credit. Whatever their failings, at least we have an educated government for once in this province. - Iain McVey - -- Iain McVey (mcvey@mprgate.mpr.ca) | - Go ahead, ask me the questions; Software Designer | I'm not afraid. - Brave sir Robin MPR Teltech Ltd. | - Default .mailrc files are the 8999 Nelson Way, Burnaby, BC | invention of the anti-christ.
