Hello, Alan.

Ken McVay exists, but he's not a child molester. He is a fulltime 
debunker of Holocaust deniers, antisemites, neo-Nazis, etc. He  
maintains a massive Web site archiving that sort of material 
(http://www.nizkor.org/) and regularly posts on news groups to counter 
hate material.

Lately, a few of the hate-mongers he debunks have been cross-posting 
slanderous material about McVay on a number of news groups. You have 
encountered one of them. 

McVay is also a Usenet/Internet libertarian, who argues there's no need 
to censor and that it's adequate simply to post accurate information to 
counter hate posts.

The hate-mongers in question seized on a quote from him reported in the 
news media a few years ago to the effect that he didn't think most of 
what he had seen on the Web was child pornography. I've seen many of 
their posts here on British Columbia, Canada, news groups, where they 
often appear because McVay is from here.

Anyhow, these posts have gradually evolved from accusing McVay of 
supporting child pornography to saying he's a child molester. 

None of it is true. 

Rest assured that while these guys might be slandering Texas, it is far 
from alone.
