mountain weather forecast for coastal British Columbia issued by the
Pacific weather centre of Environment Canada in Vancouver at 2:00 PM
PST Saturday 25 november 1995 valid until midnight Sunday. The next
scheduled forecast will be issued at 6:00 AM PST Sunday.

Precipitation intensity is forecast as an
hourly rate of snowfall water equivalent.
  Nil light moderate heavy
no pcpn up to 2.5 mm 2.5 to 7.5 mm more than 7.5 mm

discussion.
A deep upper low centered at 52n/130w is circulating moist and
unstable air across all of the BC coast. Airmass convection in the
form of rain and snow showers is occuring all along the coast.
An upper cold front stretching south from the low through Vancouver
Island is enhancing convective activity across the central and north
coasts and Vancouver Island. Moderate to locally heavy rain and
snowshowers are associated with this front. The front will cross the
coast mountains late this evening. The low itself will weaken overnight
and probably cross the mountains Sunday morning before dying. As the
low fills a weak but somewhat drier northwest flow will develop ahead
of a flat offshore ridge Sunday. The upper flow will gradually shift
to a milder and moist southwest flow again Tuesday.

Freezing level..1500 metres south to 1200 metres north lowering to
1300 metres south and 1000 metres north by Sunday morning.

Extended outlook.
The flat upper ridge will bring milder air to the south and central coasts
on Monday. Rising freezing levels will accompany an approaching warm front.
Freezing levels in the range of 2000 to 2300 metres are expected by
Tuesday. A series of frontal systems will move onto the coast next
week bringing copious precipitation
