I check in every day from a tad south down here in Seattle, was thinking
a few tumbleweeds blowing about might brighten up the group decor.

And I actually ~like~ the nice, relaxing, comfortable, cool, gray, damp,
moldy, depressing, soul-leeching weather we've had the last few weeks!
;^)

Hello. I just subcribed a couple of weeks ago. I stayed, just in case. I
am in Mission, on Hatzic Island.
Weather today was great. We have been doing renovations, so the rain was
unwanted. I justed moved to BC two years ago. I was expecting more thunder
storms here. Sometimes I feel like I am in "Jolly ol' London". So gray.
This weeks looks ok. Enjoy!

Thunder is pretty rare here in the Pacific Northwest, certainly nothing
like the US Midwest. We get a few 'one clap wonders' during the spring
in the cool air behind a Pacific cold front. If we're ~really~ good,
once or twice in the summer we can get some halfway decent storms up
from points south.

At least here in Seattle, anyway. (There isn't a seattle.weather group,
the locals would just whine too much anyway... ;^)

Hi Bob. I assume Seattle gets the same weather as up here in Van. Isn't it
supposed to be the wettest city in the US? (not today of course)

Yes, I was very dissappointed with the storms down here. I am orginally
from Ontario where the thunderstorms are amazing. Real fun to camp in!

Enjoy the heat this week

Trish

We try to tell the Californians that! ;^) Actually, there are quite a
few cities in the US that get a little more rain on average that we do;
they just tend to get it in a few, heavy dumps rather than spread out
acroiss the calendar in dribs and drabs like we do.

If you want lots of rain, just head into the coastal mountains in BC, or
come down to the Olympic peninsula west of Seattle - the Olympic Rain
Forest can get 300~400 inches of rain in a year quite easily!

I've never been somewhere to see the really impressive storms firsthand,
though I did visit Arizona a few decades ago during the summer monsoon
season, very pretty and noisy!

 - an example of the rare, but nice summer-type storms we can get in
Seattle.

Nice pics, you take pictures like I do. I will post when I get them scanned
in. I have never sucsessfully photographed lightning. But then again, I
havn't tried too often. I am off to Ontario this weekend. Just can't get
enough humidity I guess. Figures, I go from one heat ware to an even hotter
one. I am not bringing my big camera this time, so my pics will not be as
nice. I will check back in three weeks. I hope you don't get lonely.
Looks like just you and I in here.

Take care

Trish

I'll be okay. Sitting here. All alone. In the dark... ;^)

We have a bit of mid level instability oozing up from down south
tonight, with some luck we might even see a flash or two after dark.
Fingers crossed...

Have a good trip!

I shot slides for 35 years, then mixed in a Sony digital five years ago,
and finally upgraded to a Maxxum 7D DSLR late last year. I'm so far
behind on updating my web site that there isn't anythging from the 7D
there yet... =(
