Hoi, Ik heb dit bericht ook op een Engelstalige NG gepost en aangezien ik iets te lui ben om alles te vertalen heb ik het in 't Engels gelaten maar dat zal voor de meesten geen probleem zijn peins ik... :-) Hi, For a few years already I've got a Medion PC (Titanium MD 8000 XL) I'm quite happy with but recently I've ran in some problems with my new GPU. It's originally equipped with a GeForce 4 Ti 4200 with 128 MB card but since this is too weak for almost all games nowadays I've tried two types of better AGP cards but neither of them works the way it should and I never had problems with the old GPU... :-s I've tried a GeForce 6600/6800 GT/GS (I don't remember it exactly) and more recently a GeForce 7800 GS but whenever I run a game I get into trouble. Most of the time my PC just hangs and sometimes I just have some artifacts (like green/inverted textures and deformed 3D models, like vertices that lie outside the model so it looks like spikes are sticking out) or BSOD driver_irql_not_less_or_equal on the openhci.sys USB driver. So I'm thinking it's either the chipset/GPU combination, an insufficient/broken PSU (it's only a 250 Watt one and I've read some stuff about bad capacitors causing havoc too) or perhaps even heat problems since it's getting quite hot in there with 2 HD's, a DVD-RW and CD-RW drive but leaving the case open does not change anything. Did I mention both cards have an extra power hookup since the AGP bus can't deliver the power they need? Also, some games never crash (Quake 4), some rarely crash (Call of duty 2), some almost never crash (Call of duty 2), some crash after more or less half an hour (F.E.A.R.) and some crash after a few minutes (FlatOut 2) so this ain't looking good. Are there some things I can try in order to resolve this problem or am I doomed here? Merci, Wimmmy -- From time to time you have to act crazy in order not to become it...
