Hi Wargamers,

I would like to invite you to have a look at our club at
http://www.xs4all.nl/~cyberfox.
"Rugged Defense" is one of the major pbem wargame clubs in the
internet. Not only that you are added to a list of players, each
game series has its own ladder. You can register games against other
members, and you receive points for playing and winning games.

We received the VirCom Award (Virtual Combat) from SSI for our site!

Following games are covered:
- SSI's 5 star & living battlefields series (Panzer General,
Allied General, Pacific General, Panzer General II,
  People's General)!
- Talonsoft's The Operational Art of War!
- SSI's Steel Panther series (ladder just restarted)!

Quick response, additional features (scenario hints,
tournaments (also against other clubs), opponent search center,
etc...) have made us unique in the world of wargaming.
Especially for Panzer General II, we have a lot of pages with
tactical hints, scenario descriptions, etc.

Here are some statistics about us:

Ladder Ladder Players Games in Progress Games Played
General series 200 200 1450
TOAW 100 140 280

A total number of 550 members is registered!

Tournaments:
- a Panzer General II tourney against the "General's Guild" has just
finished with a Rugged Defense victory!
- a Steel Panthers II tourney is running!
- a Panzer General (Windows) tournament is running!
- a Panzer General (DOS) tournament is running!
- a Peoples General tourney, in cooperation with "The Wargamer"
  has just started!
- A TOAW tournament will start soon!

We address the normal problems of PBEM ladders (cheating,
unactive players) through the rigid application of penalties
and the quick deletion of long-term inactive players.

The whole staff of Rugged Defense invites you to join
this big wargame community! We also welcome new staff members, who
would like to start a ladder for their favorite game.
