I may have a temporal fix for your problem. Those clicks are often referred
to als "Jitter".

They can be caused by bad software or a bad cd-player. Since you state that
you didn't have any problems with your writer in Win98, the fault of those
jitters lies with your software, Adaptec Easy Cd Creator running under
Win2K.

Simply use another ripping program to extract your audio cd's, like
audiograbber or windac, then burn these WAV files as an audio compilation
with Adaptec.

If that doesn't work, try the latest version of Nero. According to many
people, it is a much better program than AECC, at the expense of being a tad
more difficult...
