Just do as they ask

type in the commandline

c:\Program Files\kinetix\3dsmax.exe -h

the path may be wrong, depends on where you installed the software, if you
did this, you will be at the 3d-hardware setup of 3dsmax. It's been a long
time, but if you haven't got hardware acceleration, or your card isn't
supported i think you have to choose the heidi drivers, this may be wrong,
read the manual on which drivers you need.
