menu)

op support.microsoft.com staat de volgende
(werkende, maar rare) oplossing:

"verwijder de Standard Floppy Disk Controller,
herstart, en STANDBY is terug beschikbaar"


en het werkt :-)

alleen begrijp ik absoluut niet waarom:
wat heeft het verwijderen vd   Standard Floppy Disk Controller
(die terug werd gedetecteerd en werkt na rebooten)
er mee te maken ?????

Is the Standby option missing from the Shut Down Windows dialog box?


The Standby option is removed from the Shut Down Windows dialog box if
standby mode does not load properly on two attempts, or if a device driver
needs to disable APM to prevent possible data loss.
The Standby option may reappear if you remove your standard floppy disk
controller.
Important
1. The Standby option may be missing for a reason (for example, a device
driver may disable APM to prevent possible data loss), in which case
re-enabling it may cause your computer to stop responding (hang) when you
try to put the computer on standby.
To try to get the Standby option to appear
2. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
3. Double-click System, and then click the Device Manager tab.
4. Double-click Floppy disk controllers, then click Standard Floppy Disk
Controller.
5. Click Remove, and then click OK.
6. Restart your computer when you are prompted to do so. When your computer
restarts, the floppy disk controller is detected again.
7. Click Start, and then click Shut Down to see whether the Stand by option
appears

| heractiveren van de slaapstand optie nergens vinden.
