and all I had to do was add this simple if-construct:

if (relativeUri.StartsWith("xhtml11")) {
	baseUri=new Uri("http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml11/DTD/xhtml11.dtd");
}


I think this is something what can be referred to as "an ugly hack"...
