final attributen zijn constanten. Variabelen die je dus niet kan wijzigen in
het loop van het programma. Je declareert ze alsvolgt:
public class MyClass
{
private final int TIEN = 10;
private final int ELF = 11;
private final int TWAALF = 12;
}
het is nogal de gewoonte om constanten in hoofdletters te zetten. Zo kan je
gemakkelijk het onderscheid maken tussen een gewone variabele en een
constante.
