autoconf en preprocessor defines

Hallo iedereen.

Ik heb een probleem met autoconf.  Ik zou graag hebben dat, indien ik

  ./configure --disable-inline-functions

ingeef, er in mijn config.h

#define _ES_OUTLINE_

zou verschijnen.

Ik probeerde dit te bereiken door de volgende regel in mijn configure.ac
te zetten :

AC_ARG_ENABLE([inline-functions], [  --disable-inline-functions        
compile all functions outline], [AC_DEFINE([_ES_OUTLINE_])])

Maar dat blijkt niet te werken.  (Ik krijg geen foutmelding, maar er
verandert ook niets in config.h als ik de optie meegeef.)

Iemand een idee ?

p.s. : `autoconf' en `automake' aanroepen is toch voldoende, gegeven een
goede configure.ac he ?
