The only solution right now (that I know off) for people >in the US, is to use a GPS receiver ... they allow to sync the clocks. Finally the GPS receiver systems are by >nature more/very expensive compared to ordinary radio-receiver-clocks. > >By the way, thanks to the US, we have GPS over here in Europe too, Europe is >now only 'thinking' about building an own fleed of GPS-satellites to be >independent of the US ... I just thought I'd elaborate on what a Funkuhr is, because I thought most people here in North America who have never heard of such a thing, would find it rather interesting. I also it was a good wake up call for those here, who have never been anywhere else, and have the nonsensical idea that we are ahead of everone else, and the rest of the world is trying to catch up with us. By the way, there was an interesting article in the June 2001 issue of Elector that went into some detail on the theory and construction of Funkuhren. The copy of Elector I have is in German (the title of the article is "Moderne Funkuhren; Aufbau und Funktionsweise), but I don't know if there is a copy of the magazine available in English. Fascinating, though! Bob.
