I saw in a post to a Verio newsgroup that posts to best. general (and other best.* newsgroups) appear on Google Groups. Since I switched to a Verio POP (and was migrated to a Verio server), I no longer have access to the Best news server, so I checked on Google and sure enough, the best.general posts are there. I needed to create a Google account to post this here, but anyone can view these posts on the Web. (Since I can't disguise my email address on Google, I am opening myself up to more spam, but it's already gotten bad enough that I don't really care any more. I guess that means the spammers have won. . .) Of course, once the old nntp*.best.com server is turned off, no new posts to best.* will go through (I think!), but old posts will still be archived at Google Groups (going back to November 1995!). <http://groups.google.com/advanced_group_search> MZ
