I am trying to use DBM.

This is the open statement that I am using.  Its seems to hang on this
statement.

I don't get an error, it just seems to stop.

$database = "testfile";
$mode = 0666 ;

  dbmopen (%test, $database, $mode) or die " can't open ";

I have this working on another account on hway, so it appears that it
works differently on Best.

Any ideas?
