Re-posted from alt.config --------------------------------- bit.listserv.techwr-l was set up as a mirror of the high traffic mailing list "TECHWR-L". Currently traffic from the mailing list to the newsgroup is strictly one way. Posts directly to the newgroup do not reach the mailing list. I have been in contact with the moderator of the mailing list (Eric Ray) and would like to propose a change in the status of the newsgroup from un-moderated to auto-moderated. Posts made to the newsgroup would instead be automatically emailed to the mailing list TECHWR-L@LISTSERV.OKSTATE.EDU which would then post the message to newsgroup. The official home of the mailing list is http://www.raycomm.com/techwhirl/listinfo.htm Note: Direct posts to the newsgroup number one or two per day, therefore it is unlikely that any kind of voting process will produce sufficient votes to give a meaningful outcome. The mailing list on the other hand, has somewhere in the region of 4000 subscribers and averages 30 posts a day. --------------------------------- I'm looking for someone who has the authority to send control messages to the bit.listserv newsgroup heirarchy. Someone suggested Jim McIntosh jim@american.edu and Peter M. O'Donnell pmod@american.edu but email to those people went unanswered. Mike
