As the listowner of 2000ad-l, I would like to proposal our mailing
list be gated to a newsgroup in the bit.listserv.* family.

bit.listserv.2000ad-l  The year 2000: it's folklore, festivities & future

2000ad-l is an open, moderated academic discussion list looking at
the millennial influence on today's culture, millennial books,
the great calendar, bimillennial groups, proposed mega-events for 
1999-2001 and reflections on the advent of the third millennium.

The listowners of 2000ad-L are Stephen D. O'Leary
<soleary@rcf.usc.edu>, assistant professor of communications at
the U.S.C. Annenberg School of Communications and myself, Jay
Gary, <talk2000@rmii.com> communications consultant and author of
_The Star of 2000_. Our interest is how fin de siecle rhetoric
is/will shape the way we perceive the new millennium. 

We have been up and operating since September and now average 8
posts a day. Our Listproc administrator at USC and our 200 readers
are agreeable about establishing a gated list.
