Please consider a proposal for a gateway for IMAGRS-L

IMAGRS-L is a highly successful and active list, whose subject is Remote
Sensing (Earth Observation) in general, and "Image Processing of Remotely
Sensed Data" in particular.

List membership and traffic has grown substantially in recent months, to
the extent that it is considered likely to benefit from the more
convenient presentation offered by Usenet.   In addition, there is a
percieved need for such a group in the Usenet community, as witness
recent threads on sci.image.processing in particular.

I am proposing an unmoderated gateway to a newsgroup "bit.listserv.imagrs-l".

I have the agreement of List Owner Peter Sincak and Listserv administrator
Ingrid Ledererova to this proposal.

I have posted a proposal to List subscribers.   Of those who replied,
a substantial majority were in favour, and none expressed strong feelings
against the proposal.
