I would like to propose a gateway to Usenet for the listserv mailing lists
associated with the University of Arizona School of Library Science. The
primary list is Arizsls. This is used for communication within the Library
School, as well as communication with distance students and alumni. We have
other lists I would like to see a gateway established for--one specifically
for distance students, and lists for individual classes. The name(s) would
be the usual bit.listserv.arizsls.

I oppose this proposal since the interest in these lists is too limited.
Why should thousands of systems devote disk space to newsgroups of little
interest to anyone except the faculty, students and alumni of the
University of Arizona School of Library Science? I suggest you contact
the computer center at the University of Arizona to set up local
newsgroups there gated to these lists.
