(previously posted on NETNWS-L with little success :-( ) Ever since the EDUPAGE list moved from LISTSERV to another list processor (LISTPROC, I believe), I have been unable to get Netnews to handle that list correctly. A few users have asked for it, but I couldn't get it to send me full headers, and Netnews couldn't seem to gate in list mail without them. Unfortunately, none of the mail from the list has even a Sender: field, let alone a messageID! Is there any way I can get Netnews to gate this stuff correctly? Thanks in advance! Jeffrey A. Some of the lists gated here are run with ListProc. I do not know
what the owners had to do to "tweak" it to get it to work. The
two requirements for the NetNews gateway are:
(1) The post must come from one, consistent address (most real
Mailing List Managers do this these days... if they didn't, errors
would go to the poster rather than to the owner).
(2) Every post must have a Message-ID. If none is present in
the incoming post, the MLM must create one. If one is present,
it must leave it alone. Under List
Have the ListProc maintainer check to see how to specify an
equivalent option for ListProc. I know that either such an option
exists, or that the list owner can do something to cause it to happen
because some lists gated here are run using ListProc.
