NOTICE: I sent this previously sent this to news-admin@cs.psu.edu
there have been some changes and I found a means of posting
here.
As a member of the proponent committee on the reorganization of SOC.ROOTS
and an owner of two of the mailing lists in question, it has come to our
attention that we need to post to this group to have enacted the gateway
between several newsgroups in our package with mailing lists at GATECH.EDU.
Here are the newsgroups in question, their associated mailing lists
and owners as they currently stand. At this time it is our request
that arrangements for connection be made in the following methods,
provided there are no objections.
We are also currently working with the postmaster at gatech.edu in
getting two of the three mentioned here created as one already exists.
Mailing Gatewayed to:
List Soc.Genealogy.* Brief Description
-------- --------------- ----------------------------------------------
GENCMP-L computing Genealogical computing & net resources
Owner: John Pimentel pimentel@roots.ultranet.com
Type: Bi-directional
GENMSC-L misc General genealogical discussions
Owners: David Chapin dchapin@er.arco.com
John Pimentel pimentel@roots.ultranet.com
Type: Bi-directional
GEN-FR-L french Francophone genealogy
Owner: Denis Beauregard beaurega@ireq.hydro.qc.ca
Current status: Each of the groups in the package have passed the voting and
for these groups newgroup control messages have been sent. Other groups
in the package will be gatewayed via other means. We are seeking a connection
through american.edu or psu.edu.
Thank you.
