As the disadvantages of a unidirectional gateway have been pointed out to 
us, we are amending the proposed gateway bit.listserv.bgrass-l as follows:

1) it will be a *moderated* gateway, with the list address 
bgrass-l@ukcc.uky.edu set as moderator

2) Usenet readers attempting to post to bit.listeserv.bgrass-l will 
receive an automatic reply explaining why their post was not accepted and 
instructions on subscribing to the list via normal listserv procedures.

Hm.  I think you mean it will be a moderated *newsgroup*, with a
gateway to an unmoderated, private mailing list, "private" meaning
only subscribers can post, but anyone who wants to post can
subscribe.

OK. As long as we agree on the mechanics, I'll accept the correction in 
terminology.
