We are currently asking QUAKER-L and QUAKER-P participants if they agree
to the idea of reflecting the listservs to two new netnews groups:
bit.listserv.quaker-l and bit.listserv.quaker-p

We have approval from our local listserv admin.

This would be a one-way gateway (listserv -> NetNews).  The newsgroup
would be moderated with an automatic message generated in response to
posts to tell people that they must subscribe to the listserv and post
there.  This is to avoid a large increase in traffic that may cause
subscribers to drop the list, and at the same time avoid confusion from
posts going only to NetNews.

If anyone has any objection to this plan, please contact me via e-mail.

P.S.  Can anyone tell me whether the bit.listserv heirarchy must use the
identical name of the listserv, or if the name can be more descriptive?

(e.g.  bit.listserv.quaker.general  and bit.listserv.quaker.peace-and-service)
