As per guidelines for establishing gateways, the following is being posted to relevent news groups; bit.admin, talk.politcs.tibet and the TIBET-L mailing list for discussion. Unless there are significant objections, within 7 days of posting of this article, the gateway will be established. *** Proposal A Listserv/Netnews gateway is being proposed for the TIBET-L list. The list will be gated to bit.listserv.tibet-l. The proposed gateway will be bidirectional. This means, all postings to TIBET-L will be automatically sent to the coressponding Netnews newsgroup and vice versa. *** TIBET-L at LISTSERV@IUBVM.bitnet (The Tibet Interest List) TIBET-L (The Tibet Interest List) is an unmoderated forum for discussion on all aspects of Tibet. Besides providing a forum for exchange of ideas and information, at least twice a week, TIBET NEWS, an electronic journal on Tibet-related news and events from around the world is posted to the list. The TIBET-L FAQs (Frequently Asked Question) provide a useful resources on Tibet. We plan to make FAQs accessible to via anonymous ftp. Currently, TIBET-L FAQ: Tibetan Fonts for IBM and Macintosh is available via e-mail to the list owner. The postings to TIBET-L are automatically archived. To subscribe to TIBET-L, send an email to: LISTSERV@IUBVM.bitnet. The text of your message should be: SUBSCRIBE TIBET-L Your name. Listname: TIBET-L (The Tibet Interest List) Hostname: LISTSERV@IUBVM.bitnet Listowner: SDHARGAY@UCS.indiana.edu (Sonam Dargyay) *** Why a gateway? The gateway will allow subscribers the capability to read postings to TIBET-L mailing list on a shared diskspace instead of recieving them in their mailboxes. It will also allow Usenet news readers access to TIBET-L postings and crosspost articles to TIBET-L via the gateway.
