The listserv discussion list ASIS-L@UVMVM.BITNET is a communication network
supporting the efforts of the American Society for Information Science
(ASIS), its Committees, Chapters, and Special Interest Groups (SIGs).
Members of ASIS and those interested in Information Science may benefit from
the activities of the List.

ASIS-L is officially unmoderated, however, subscribers will comment if
discussion moves too far from the interests of Information Science.
Currently there are almost 700 subscribers. A bi-directional link between
Usenet and the listserv was suggested at the Annual meeting of ASIS in
October 1993 and was strongly supported by ASIS-L subscribers when their
agreement for establishing the link was recently requested.

The list is housed at the University of Vermont and is coordinated by:
Merri Beth Lavagnino (mlavagni@uvmvm.bitnet or @uvmvm.uvm.edu) and
Debra Lords (dlords@alexandria.lib.utah.edu or @arcadia.lib.utah.edu)

We look forward to joining Usenet. Thank you very much.

Debra Lords
ASIS-L co-listowner
