Moderated Newsgroup Mechanics

I'm still in the process of deciding whether to bring SCREEN-L to b.l.screen-l.

One option I'm considering is creating b.l.screen-l as a *moderated* newsgroup
even though SCREEN-L is an *un*moderated LISTSERV.

Here's my question re the mechanics of moderating:

If someone is a newsgroup's moderator he/she receives articles for the
newsgroup through e-mail, correct? Does he/she then *e-mail* the postings to
the newsgroup or does he/she have to connect with Usenet and *post* the
articles through that (awkward, for me) process?

Thanks for the clarification.

In article <jbutler.21.000C09F3@bamanet.ua.edu>, jbutler@bamanet.ua.edu (Jeremy Butler) says:

The moderator would have to post the article (with the necessary
approved header) back to the newsgroup. In your case, though, the
same effect could be accomplished by mailing the post (with you as
Sender and the original writer as From) to the mailing list. It
would be distributed to the subscribers -- which includes the gateway.
The gateway would then put the article in the newsgroup with the
appropriate headers.
