This is the log of messages I rejected yesterday.  

"ancient date" indicates the Date: header is over seven days old.

"unparseable date" means the date header doesn't come anywhere near
RFC conformance, OR that the headers were so mangled that two headers
got merged, or that the posting software was being flaky.

"contains non-RFC-1036 header" indicates that there's not one or more
spaces after a given header.  The space might be missing, there might
be a tab instead of a space, it may be a header with no value (yes, a
trailing space is still required after the colon).

Some older versions of Trumpet, one of the Mac newsreaders, and I believe
NNR, created invalid-syntax message ids or date headers.
