: No. I have sent a number of pieces of mail to the new list owner (who
: sent me mail a while back saying he wanted the gateway to continue) and

I think that unlike the past, when gaynet@athena.mit.edu was shadowed by
a LISTSERV list (gaynet@mitvma), it's being run like a real internet mailing
list now. The list-host, gallifrey.kent.edu, is reported to be an IBM RT
running AIX, so it's possible that the buggy sendmail (all AIX sendmails
are buggy, trust me) or the demands of a big list might be more of a burden
than expected. That doesn't explain silence from the list-owner tho.

If it is an internet-style mailing list, it may be difficult to get it into
form that PSU NetNews can gateway it. On a Unix system, Rich Salz newsgate
can handle it (I'm using it right now, with both internet and listserv lists,
although the listserv lists have to have "set header ietf" to work right
with newsgate).
