Hello, My name is Mike Dietze and I am looking for a position as a Research Assistant for this summer. I am currently a Junior at Duke University where I am majoring in Biology with a concentration in Ecology and minoring in Chemistry and Physics. I have also studied a full semester of tropical biology and ecology at the Univerity of Costa Rica, which included extensive field work, and have participated in the OTS/TIP Costa Rica field studies program. Additionally, I was previously an engineering major, which I belive is an asset because of my greater depth of knowledge in the other sciences, mathematics, and computers (particularly simulations and systems) than the average biology student. I am a very hard worker and, while my main interests are tropical and forest ecology, I would be enthusiastic about any ecology project I could participate in. While I would obviously prefer a stipend, I am willing to work for room, board, and transportation. Thank you, Michael Dietze ____________________________________________________________ The green prehuman earth is the mystery we were choosen to solve, a guide to the birthplace of our spirit, but it is slipping away E.O.Wilson ____________________________________________________________ mcd7@acpub.duke.edu Duke University http://www.duke.edu/~mcd7 Wilson 307C njlorax@aol.com Box 92193 (919) 613-1779 Durham, NC 27708
