I am putting together a comparative course in the natural history of the N.
AM Deserts, and would like to know what you, my colleagues would offer up as
your favorite references for the following subjects relative to the Mojave
and Great Basin Deserts:

1. general natural history and ecology of these desert systems

2.  Identification of plants, mammals, birds, and herps

Please respond to me directly, and I will post a summary for general
consumption.
