PCFC = Petition for a Commercial Free Christmas

I think media and marketers owe us!  And it's time they 'PAY UP"!

Day in and day out we are bombarded with redundant, endless advertisements.  
A one day break from this attack doesn't seem too much to ask!

I'd like to start a movement of those that agree to approach all radio 
and TV media sources across the board that Xmas 'should be' off limits!

This could, and will be done, in the form of a petition signed or 
endorsed via a Web form by you and sent to each of the radio and TV 
sources in your local area.

We endure the Xmas season's aggressive marketing via media. Commercial after 
commercial - buy this, buy that - if you don't have this your not cool, 
buy your kid this overpriced blue Widget or you'll warp them!!  The last 
thing we need on Xmas day are 'After Xmas sale' ads!

After Xmas sales should be promoted AFTER Xmas, not on Xmas day!

So..  what do you think?  We give notice to radio and TV media that at 
the very first commercial we encounter on Christmas Day (just 1 day Dec 
25th) we turn off the offending device for the rest of the day, and spend 
it with our friends and family. As it should be! 

                         And then actually do it!

Only valid local, non-profit public service announcements or other 
non-commercial Xmas related programming would be acceptable, but urge 
that in place of a commercial the word 'Intermission' is displayed on 
the screen with Xmas carols to serve as the background music.

Our radio friends could replace the ads with 'good news' stories and 
reports or Xmas songs and music.

What a wonderful Xmas present this would be! "To: all our 'good little 
consumers' From: all the Capitalists - With Love :)"

The 'with love' may be going a bit far, but you get the idea!!
