THE FEDERAL WEB LOCATOR
---------------------------
The Villanova Center for Information Law and Policy is pleased to
announce the release of the Second Edition of the Federal Web Locator.
The Federal Web Locator can be found at the same URL as the original
edition:

	http://www.law.vill.edu/Fed-Agency/fedwebloc.html
	or
	http://www.law.vill.edu/fed-agency/fedwebloc.html

The Federal Web Locator (FedWebLoc) is the primary Internet site
providing the most comprehensive access point on the Interest to connect
to United States federal government sites. The new version of the
FedWebLoc improves any user's efficiency in accessing the federal
government by using a structure paralleling The United States Government
Manual, which is published by the General Printing Office of the U.S.
Congress. The new structure has decreased the size of the files
downloaded by the user therefore increasing the speed at which one can
locate federal government information. In addition, the new structure
improves access by laying out the federal government in its proper
organization.

With well over 550 federal sites, the FedWebLoc IS the Internet front
door to the federal government. In the near future, the FedWebLoc will
add searching capabilities to permit the user to quickly locate federal
sites. Additionally, annotations from the Government Manual will be
added to provide the user with a better understanding of each separate
department and agency. Also, a federal site registration form is in
development to permit new sites to promptly register and allow the
greatest number of users to find the new site.

And of course, the Federal Web Locator will be continuously updated
adding new federal sites when they appear. If you know of a site that
is not listed, please email vcilp@mail.law.vill.edu to have that site
added to the FedWebLoc. As a small token of thanks your name will be
added to our contributors page, with a link to your personal home page.

Any comments or suggestions are gladly accepted at
vcilp@mail.law.vill.edu.
