ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR (POLICY RESEARCH)
AUSTRALIAN COUNCIL for EDUCATIONAL RESEARCH

ACER seeks an Associate Director to head its Policy Research Division.  The
appointment will be on a seven-year renewable contract.  Salary level is
equivalent to university professorial level with an additional loading.
Attractive salary packaging arrangements are available.

ACER is an independent, not-for-profit research and development organisation,
established in 1930 and located in Melbourne, Australia.  Its research and
development staff are organised into two divisions, Measurement headed by
Dr Geoff Masters, and Policy Studies, previously headed by Dr Trevor Williams
who has taken an appointment in the USA.

ACER maintains a core research program funded by an annual grant from Federal
and all State and Territory governments in Australia.  It also has a
substantial program of contract and fee-for-service work.  For further
